Brandenburg gate photographed from Unter-den-Linden boulevard. The gate was built between 1788 & 1791 and the design is based upon the propylaeum of the Acropolis in Athens. During the era of "The Wall" is was located in a no man's land and symbolized the division of the city. This area is reserved for pedestrians.
